Bellville Sassoon

Founded in 1953 by Belinda Bellville, the company changed it's name to Bellville Sassoon in 1970 after David Sassoon, who came to work at the house in 1958, became the head designer. Dressing the wealthy British clientele, the most prolific of whom was Princess Diana who wore a dress by the designer to the 'Splendor of the Gonzaga' in 1981. Along with the Princess of Wales, Bellville Sassoon designed clothing for Princess Margaret, Jackie Kennedy, Audrey Hephburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Helen Mirren and Madonna.
