Chanel

Started by Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel in 1920, the House of Chanel has spawned some of the most iconic fashion pieces of the 20th century. A pioneer of women's fashion, Chanel saw a need for simple, comfortable clothes that were elegant and understated. Working with a neutral palette of navy, beige and black in styles that did not require corsets, Chanel revolutionized the way women dressed. She is credited with transforming tweed into the iconic Chanel suit,  was the creator of the LBD (Little Black Dress) and designed the most coveted handbag, the 2.55. Chanel fashion collections include clothing, handbags and jewelry and the chief designer at the House of Chanel since 1983 has been Karl Lagerfeld.
