Condition

Buying vintage clothing means purchasing something that has some history. It is normal for vintage items to have been worn by the previous owner. Here is the Glossary of Terms used by vintagecouture.com to describe the condition of the merchandise. It is always recommended that the buyer make all necessary inquiries prior to the final purchase. All clothing and accessories are sold to be worn. As a result vintagecouture.com will not undertake to offer an item that is deemed unwearable or in poor condition. Any exceptions to this policy will be clearly noted in the description of the article.

MINT: flawless condition, possibly unworn with tags, no visible imperfections, discolorations and an overall freshness that is found only in barely worn articles.

EXCELLENT: may show some very minor wear attributed to light usage such as a resewn hem, alterations to the shape, minor discoloration in the lining, light scratching on the surface of leather goods, on the corners or interior of handbags. Overall the quality of these items is as close to original condition as possible given that there has been some light use.

VERY GOOD: indicates good quality with some slight visible changes due to normal wear. Slight softness due to washing, linings may be faded. Belts, handbags and other accessories in leather or metal may show some minor scratching or interior discoloration.

Vintagecouture.com undertakes to sell only the highest quality wearable vintage designer clothing and accessories. Not all colors look the same on every computer. We try to provide the most accurate descriptions indicating wherever possible the visible and invisible flaws. Our philosophy is to provide only the Best Designer and Recent Clothing and Accessories.

Sizing

Vintage designer clothing and accessories are not sized like contemporary fashion. All clothing items will have accurate measurements for each component: shoulders, arms, bust, hips, length, inseam etc. Buyers should refer to these measurements and inquire if they have concerns or want further details. Check below for shoe size chart. Click the link(insert link to size guide) for metric/imperial conversions.

Measuring your size

Using a tape measure here are the guidelines to accurate sizing:

Bust: Measure under your arms at the fuller part of your bust. Keep tape level across your shoulder blades.

Shoulder: Take this measurement from shoulder-tip to shoulder-tip (the widest point)

Waist: Measure around your natural waistline above your navel below your ribcage keeping the tape comfortably loose.

Hips: Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest point of your hips.

Inseam: Measure your best fitting full length pant from crotch seam to bottom of leg.
