It's all in the details! This gorgeous black Jean Patou gown from the 1960s shows that the right combination of materials and exquisite workmanship can make the perfect LBG (little black gown). The cap sleeves of the gown give some coverage while the deep V in the back shows off some much needed skin. The satin ribbon runs along the natural waist and finishes in a bow on the left hip. Zipper up the back. In excellent condition.

Jean Patou

Jean Patou launched his first fashion collection in 1914 and is credited with designing the first cardigan and knitted bathing suit. Influenced by Art Deco and Cubism, Patou's designs featured simple shapes and geometric lines and he was best known for creating sporty outfits for the modern woman, including tennis idol Suzzane Lenglen who he dressed in a white pleated skirt, white cardigan and headband which became the uniform of the tennis world.  After Patou's death in 1936 his Couture House was kept open by his sister and designers for the House of Patou have included Marc Bohan, Karl Lagerfeld, Jean Paul Gaultier and Christian Lacroix.
