Kenzo

Opening his own boutique, Jungle Gap, in 1970 in Paris, Japanese designer Kenzo Takada quickly gained notoriety among a worldly audience for his cheerful, unconventional ethnic garments. By combining his native Kimono cut with South American, Scandinavian and American influences, Kenzo created a unique style that became his fashion calling card. He is regarded as the most European of all the Japanese designers in Paris and his 1970s and 80s designs are still very contemporary in today's fashion world.
