White Jewel Trimmed Micro Pleated Gown
1980s fabulous white micro pleated Mary McFadden gown. Long sleeves with fitted bodice and straight skirt. Beautiful metallic gold macramé and pearl neckline, gold wrapped rope detail at shoulders and gold v shaped detail at waist. Would be a stunning wedding or mother of the bride gown. In 1975 Mary McFadden patented a new pleating technique, made from polyester and in which the pleating was permanent. This gown is a perfect example of an Mary McFadden's work with the pleating and exotic embroideries and beading, influenced by her travels to Africa and Asia. Excellent vintage condition.
