Yves Saint Laurent

Black Velvet and Quilted Smoking Jacket

| /
Inspired by androgynous women like model Danielle Luquet de Saint Germain French, artist Niki de Saint Phalle and Marlene Dietrich, the Yves Saint Laurent Le Smoking suit was introduced in the late 1960's and continues to be popular today. This black velvet YSL Rive Gauche smoking jacket dates from the early 1970s. The black velvet exterior is contrasted with the satin quilted interior. The shawl lapel and cuffs are folded to reveal the interior quilting. The jacket is finished with black satin trim. Though all black, the combination of textures is very visually intriguing. This jacket is extremely modern and versatile. Wear it with jeans and pumps, or over a cocktail dress. Excellent vintage condition. Made in France. Fits like a US size 4.
